Biomass Briquettes available on Urja Mitra are manufactured using high-pressure densification technology that compresses loose agricultural biomass — rice husk, wheat straw, sugarcane bagasse, cotton stalks, and other crop residues — into solid, uniform cylindrical blocks without the use of any chemical binders. The result is a dense, clean-burning fuel that can directly substitute for coal or firewood in most combustion applications.

 

Unlike loose biomass, briquettes offer dramatically higher bulk density (up to 1,200 kg/m³ vs. 150 kg/m³ for loose straw), making them far more economical to transport, store, and handle.
